I loved art as a child, but was never "good enough" by my own standards. So I opted for a career I was "good" at - Engineering! After 8 years of "successful" engineering, had the confidence to pursue art. Now I love every bit of what I do and am learning to give up my notions of "good art" and "bad art".
It has been thirteen years since I left Mumbai, but Mumbai does not leave me. I have decided to illustrate what I miss about Mumbai the most. Here's the first one...
The colourful "Gola-wala" conveniently perched outside every school in Mumbai tempts all children on hot sunny afternoons. For once, do not think about the water he uses or if the sticks are re-used, just indulge!
There is a playschool, "Small World" Next to my house. The neighbours complain of the noise of kids screaming and the traffic jam when parents come to drop their kids. But I love having a school in the neighbourhood. It is so cute watching anxious young ones clinging to their parents as it is time to go into the gate.
